Submit Story: New Feature on Delran Living

Over the past few months there have been several submissions to Delran Living requesting posts about various events, fund-raisers and stories.  These posts typically get created with a couple of emails back and forth with the author.

Now - it's even easier to get your story submitted.  A "Submit Story" page has been added where you can provide the details of your event, story, fund-raiser, etc.  Just fill out the form and hit submit.  Your story will appear on Delran Living within 24 hours.

Delran school bond referendum vote - Dec 9

Will the fourth time be a charm?  Many hope so!  For the fourth time since 2003, the Delran school board is trying to get a bond referendum approved.  They have been holding open houses, sending home newsletters and placing phone calls hoping to get residents out to vote on December 9th. 

So what's at stake?  The BCT recently ran an article that summarizes the issues. (view article)

Ultimately, they are looking for funding for repairs to the schools and additions for the high school and middle school.  Many believe that taxes are too high right now and are against the plan.  Others believe that you have to invest now to protect Delran's future.

Delran PeeWee Cheerleaders heading to Florida

From the Delran AA PeeWee Cheerleaders:

The Delran PeeWee Cheerleaders need your help!

They competed at the Pop Warner Eastern Region Championship on November
16th, 2008 where they placed second winning a silver medal and the right to
compete in Disney World to represent Delran on a national level.  The
National Competition is being held in Orlando, Florida at Disney's Wide
World of Sports Complex.  This awesome event takes place the week of
December 7th through the 12th.

As you can imagine, the trip to Disney is a costly one, and we are hoping we
can count on your generosity.  Based on the limited amount of time to
prepare for our Disney trip, we would like to ask for your financial
support. Your generosity will afford an entire squad of 32 ten &
eleven-year-old girls the opportunity to strive for excellence in a sport
that they truly love!

We will have coin drops all over town; we'll be out canning for donations,
selling candy bars and a few other things so please show your Delran spirit
for the girls as they take another step toward history.

A time to remember

To all those who have served and are serving today, we honor and recognize your service, and we offer our gratitude.  This day in 1918, World War I came to end, and with it came a day known as Veterans Day which we pay tribute to those who have served in our armed forces.

Tom Morrow wins council seat

Congratulations to Tom Morrow who won the Ward 2 council seat in yesterdays vote.
