Delran Town Wide Yard Sale

In case you missed it (and I know a lot of people who did!) the Delran Town Wide Yard sale is this weekend.  It will run Saturday September 27 from 8am to 2pm.  If you're feeling over crowed and just haven't had time to plan a yard sale...now is your chance!  Residents from all over town will be holding yard sales making this a huge event! 

The township will have a map available with the addresses of all the homes participating.  This map can be picked up at the municipal building Thursday and Friday.  Signs will be placed around town and an ad is being placed in the newspaper.  If you want to participate, call the township at (856) 461-7734

If it rains, then plan on Sunday September 28.

Soccer Standout Heading to Chicago

The whirlwind for Delran's Calri Lloyd continued today with the Womens Professional Soccer allocation.  Just weeks after winning gold in China and celebrating with Delran's Labor Day Parade, soccer standout Carli Lloyd is now a member of the Chicago Red Stars.

For those not familiar, the WPS was formed last September 2007 and plans to start play next April 2009.  Today was the day that the league announced the initial list of players that will start filling out it's teams rosters.  Additional players will be added to teams with a draft to be held Sept 22.You can learn more about the WPS at the Women's Professional Soccer website.

Making my Tax Payment

As usual, 3rd quarter property tax bills were late, which means you get extra time to pay.  And as usual, I wait until the last possible day to pay before interest or penalties kick in.  Well, today is that day!  Luckily (especially for me), Delran has a dropbox outside the Municipal Bldg to drop payments off!  For those not familiar with where, it's located on Chester Ave right across the Middle School.

Now as far as the amount on the check...well, that's a topic for another day!

Yesterday was truly a unique experience for Delran.  For the first time in recent memory, Delran hosted a Labor Day parade which brought residents out in force. Parents, friends and neighbors lined the streets to cheer the marching bands, soccer teams and of course Carli Lloyd.
